Invisible decrease, and when it is worth the effort

A close view of crochet stitches

A standard decrease leaves a visible bump, which does not matter on a bag and matters a great deal on a face. Work through the front loops of both stitches only. On anything the eye lands on directly, use it. Everywhere else, the ordinary decrease is faster and nobody notices.
