The categories we use
| Category | What it does | Needs consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeps pages loading, protects forms from abuse, and remembers your cookie choice itself. | No |
| Functional | Remembers small preferences so the site behaves the same on your next visit. | Yes |
| Analytics | Counts visits and shows which guides are read, through Google Analytics. | Yes |
| Advertising | Selects and measures advertisements, and limits how often you see the same one. | Yes |
Changing your choice
The banner shown on your first visit records your decision. You can reopen it at any time using the cookie settings control on the page, and switch any optional category off. Turning a category off stops new cookies in that category being set.
Your browser can also block or delete cookies for this site and every other. The help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge each explain how. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the site.
Cookies set by other companies
Analytics and advertising cookies are set by third parties, currently Google, and are governed by their own policies as well as ours. The Privacy Policy lists the opt-out links for each.
