Crochet fruit that keeps its shape when squeezed

Play fruit collapses because it is stuffed to look right rather than to feel right. Work at a hook two sizes below the yarn label so the fabric is dense, then overstuff by about a fifth. A small child will squeeze it flat a hundred times, and it needs to come back each time.
